Dear patients,

I would like to welcome you to my elective doctor’s office!

It is important to me to offer you sufficient time to discuss and ascertain your health concerns and needs.

A careful anamnesis and conscientious physical examination in a calm ambience is the basis for an accurate diagnosis and the best possible care. On this basis, together we can develop a treatment plan that is right for you. Of course, I will also endeavour to answer your additional questions in a detailed and comprehensible manner.

Through my many years of work as an internist in Kittsee Hospital, I have dealt with the diagnosis as well as guideline-based treatment of the entire range of internal diseases. This means that I can provide you, as a patient, with comprehensive advice and suggest the right therapy. In my work as an elective doctor I would like to focus particularly on prevention in order to protect you from the onset of a disease. With older patients, I am particularly concerned with deprescribing, i.e. "cutting out" unnecessary or even harmful medication for the benefit of the patient.

You can make your desired appointments either online via the homepage, by e-mail or by telephone.

I am here for you!

Yours, Dr. Viktoria Just

Elective doctor

I am an elective doctor. This means that the services I provide cannot be billed directly to a health insurance company and my patients receive a fee note that has to be paid directly. This fee note can then be submitted to your respective health insurance company and you will be reimbursed the legally guaranteed partial amount of 80% of the costs that a panel doctor would receive for the same service. Within the framework of cost reimbursement, you will therefore receive 80% of the contract partner tariff back and not 80% of my elective doctor's bill. This amount may vary depending on the health insurance company and the previous medical appointments. Unfortunately, I cannot make any predictions about the amount of the reimbursement, therefore.

No reimbursement will be made if you have also visited a panel doctor in the field of internal medicine in the same billing period (usually quarter). Likewise, the health insurance funds do not reimburse costs for services that are not included in their tariff catalogue.

Some additional insurances cover the remainder of the elective doctor's costs not reimbursed by a health insurance fund. Please check with your insurance company in advance.

I have concluded a contract with all health insurance companies for the preventive medical check-up. This means that the health insurance company will pay for the preventive medical check-up for you. Services outside the scope of the preventive medical check-up covered by the health insurance will be invoiced separately.

Prescription

I have been granted the right to prescribe. This means that my elective prescriptions are treated like health insurance prescriptions and are accepted in all pharmacies.

Fee

The fee is settled directly between you and me. Payment is made in cash after the consultation. In exceptional cases payment can also be made by bank transfer. ATM or credit cards are not accepted.

Please understand that I have to charge a fee of 50,- Euro for appointments not cancelled in time (24 hours in advance).

Please always bring the following documents with you to your appointment:

and if available

You will also receive an invitation to the online patient portal "meinarztonline". You will help us a lot if you register there and add your data, current medication, previous illnesses and allergies in advance. In addition, we then have more time available during your appointment, as not everything has to be asked again.

Medical services

Initial consultation

  • detailed anamnesis, precise clinical-internal examination with blood pressure measurement, resting ECG, diagnostic-therapeutic consultation, optimisation of drug therapy

Control appointment

  • follow-up examination within 3 months after the initial consultation with discussion of the findings, follow-up or adjustment of the therapy

Surgery release

  • detailed medical history, precise clinical-internal examination with blood pressure measurement, resting ECG, assessment of the laboratory and X-ray examinations to be brought along, assessment of the risk of surgery and anaesthesia

A surgery release serves to assess the risk of surgery and anaesthesia. It should be done about one to two weeks before the planned date of the operation. Please let us know which operation is planned for you when you make your appointment.

Please take the information sheet that you have received from your surgeon with you, as some operations require additional examinations before the operation. In any case, please take your current list of medications with you.

Even in the case of surgery appointments at short notice, I make every effort to offer a quick and short-term appointment for surgery releases.

If you already bring ready blood tests and a current lung X-ray (if necessary), the surgery release can be given to you straight away - provided all findings are in order.

Resting ECG (electrocardiography)

  • ECG printout as well as written findings, detailed explanation and discussion

An ECG records the electrical activity of the heart. The electrocardiogram provides information about the position and condition of the heart. In addition, the heart rate and heart rhythm can be measured. However, it is usually not possible to assess the severity of a heart condition.

The resting ECG is done while the patient is lying down and only takes a few minutes. The examination is painless and without risk. The measurement results are recorded via electrodes that are attached to the patient's upper body and connected to the ECG device.

24-hour ECG

  • anamnesis, written findings, detailed explanation and discussion, 2 necessary visits

This examination enables a continuous recording of the heart rhythm. The heart currents are recorded and stored by means of adhesive electrodes (on the chest). The recorder is small, light and silent and is hung around the neck or attached to the waistband of trousers during the examination. During this examination, patients can go about their usual activities and record complaints with the exact time. It is used to record cardiac arrhythmias that are not permanently present.

The recorder should not come into contact with water, so swimming, showering and visits to the sauna are not allowed during the recording period. A 24-hour ECG is completely painless.

24-hour blood pressure measurement

  • anamnesis, written findings, detailed explanation and discussion, 2 necessary visits

This is to record the blood pressure at regular intervals over 24 hours. The blood pressure is measured with a cuff attached to the upper arm, which is connected to a portable blood pressure monitor. Further conclusions for the necessity or also the optimisation of the blood pressure therapy are drawn from the collected measurement data.

During the recording, the normal daily routine should be maintained. When pumping up, however, make sure to keep the arm as still as possible and at heart level. In addition, neither showering nor bathing is allowed with this measuring device.

Abdominal ultrasound (abdominal sonography)

  • medical history, written findings, detailed explanation and discussion

Abdominal ultrasound is a completely painless and risk-free ultrasound examination of the abdomen. It is used for diagnosis and monitoring purposes. Abdominal ultrasound can be used to assess the size, structure and position of the liver, spleen, gall bladder, kidneys and pancreas, as well as any pathological changes in these.

The ultrasound examination is performed while the patient is lying down. Patients should fast for 4 hours before the examination and avoid coffee and carbonated drinks.

Cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography)

  • medical history, written findings, detailed explanation and discussion

This is a completely painless and risk-free examination of the heart. Today, this method is one of the most important examinations in the diagnosis and monitoring of heart disease. With the help of echocardiography, I get a good impression of the structure, size and function of the heart and, based on this, can take the correct and necessary treatment steps.

The examination is carried out while the patient is lying down, using an ultrasound probe that is placed on the chest. The patient's left arm is placed behind the head.

Ultrasound of the neck vessels

  • anamnesis, written findings, detailed explanation and discussion

The ultrasound examination of the carotid arteries is a painless and risk-free examination which shows the vessels that supply the brain with blood. It is mainly carried out in cases of suspected stroke, unclear dizziness or repeated falls and attacks of unconsciousness. Calcifications and constrictions that can lead to strokes can be detected. Furthermore, it can give a good impression of the general vascular calcification. It is routinely recommended for patients with existing risk factors (smoking, diabetes mellitus, overweight, positive family history).

The examination is usually performed in the supine position with the head stretched backwards.

Preventive medical check-up

The preventive medical check-up offers a comprehensive examination programme once a year to all persons over the age of 18 who reside in Austria.

One out of many focuses of the screening examination is on the early detection of cardiovascular diseases and cancer. These diseases are among the most frequent causes of death nationwide.

It consists of a blood and urine test, a questionnaire and a detailed clinical examination. From the age of 50, the stool is also examined for hidden blood. Finally, the findings are discussed in detail. Any measures that may be necessary to improve or maintain your state of health will also be discussed.

When you register for a preventive medical check-up, we will give you a laboratory assignment and, if necessary, a haemoccult test, so that you can come to the examination with the results and do not have to come a second time to discuss the findings.
